Welcome to our Organization
The Ontario East Transplant Support Group’s mission is to provide support, knowledge and encouragement to those who are pre or post Organ or Tissue Transplant. In addition the OETSG seeks to inform the public through seminars and presentations about the need and benefits to others of organ donation.
New Site Launched
With the success and exposure that the Ontario East Transplant Support Group is getting for this site, we have decided to launch an ambitious and further reaching site, canadiantransplantsupport.ca.
It will provide people with information on obtaining pre and post tranplant support from individuals or groups within their region. We feel that this will help many people find the information and personal support that is necessary throughout the entire process. Please take a look and feel free to provide any input or feedback using the email found on the new site. Thanks for checking it out!
Picture worth a Thousand Words
A picture says a thousand words, so we have included a pic of some of our friends in Ontario Team Transplant as they attended the Canadian Transplant ′Olympics′ in Edmonton, Alberta. Don’t they seem like a pretty ordinary group of people, smiling, and ready to welcome you into their company. What you would not know by looking at this picture is that each of these people owes their life to having received the "Gift of Life" in the form of a major organ transplant.
Once a month the Ontario East Transplant Support Group (OETSG for short), a non profit group of transplant recipients and supporters of giving the "Gift of Life" through organ donation, come together for friendship, mutual support, and to discuss how they can help others who are faced with having to have an organ transplant to survive. In addition, they discuss ways to broadcast the urgent need to encourage the public to consider signing an Organ Donor Card, and perhaps
provide the "Gift of Life" to another. We say "perhaps", because the circumstances required to make organs available for transplant are unique. A signed Organ Donor Card is no guarantee that the gift can be made, BUT it is a VITAL step in the process. There are various organizations in Canada who provide information to assist in taking that personal decision and they can be found on the links page.
Inspiration
We hope that this web site might provide information to help you in your current situation; might inspire you to be the best that you can be, even under present circumstances; might help you to live life as fully, as charitably and as exuberantly as you are able, and to live in harmony with those with whom we share this wonderful ′paradise on earth′.
